Product Description of RS485 Converter Module:
This low RS485 converter module is based on Maxim MAX485 IC to allow serial communication over very long cable. the length of the cable is about 4000 feet / 1200 meters. here data travels serially. and it travels in both directions. and the mode of the data is Half Duplex. in this module data rate is 2.5 Mbps. This TTL UART to RS485 Converter operates from a standard 5V logic levels. that allowing them to interface with the hardware serial ports of microcontrollers such as Arduino etc. This communication can be controlled with just one digital pin. we can connect multiple modules together for communication. if we have greater distance 2 modules can be used as a repeater.
Each MAX485 TTL UART to RS485 Converter contains one driver and it also contains one receiver. these drivers are short-circuited. and also current limited. this module protected against excessive power dissipation by thermal shutdown circuitry. the driver gives outputs into a high-impedance. the receiver has the fail-safe feature. this fail-safe feature that guarantees a logic-high output if the input is open circuit.
this TTL UART to RS485 Converter Module provides a pitch header pin of 0.1″ length. this pin is soldered in the prototype PCB and breadboards. there is a screw terminal also which provides a convention connection to the real data.
Features:
- It operates from a Single 5V Supply
- It allows up to 32 Transceivers on the Bus
